Waiting on Wednesday: Sapphire Blue (Edelstein Trilogie #2) by Kerstin Gier

Waiting on Wednesday recognizes that we as bookies pine for books. This post is about what I am impatiently waiting for right now. It was started by Jill at Breaking the Spine.

So this week I am excited to finally be featuring the 2nd book in the Edelstein Trilogy. It's only been a year since I read Ruby Red, but it feels like such a long wait! Sapphire Blue by Kerstin Gier is scheduled for an October 30 release and seems to be picking up the steam right where we left off. Be forewarned, spoilers abound if you haven't read the first book.

Sapphire Blue coverGwen’s life has been a rollercoaster since she discovered she was the Ruby, the final member of the secret time-traveling Circle of Twelve. In between searching through history for the other time-travelers and asking for a bit of their blood (gross!), she’s been trying to figure out what all the mysteries and prophecies surrounding the Circle really mean.

At least Gwen has plenty of help. Her best friend Lesley follows every lead diligently on the Internet. James the ghost teaches Gwen how to fit in at an eighteenth century party. And Xemerius, the gargoyle demon who has been following Gwen since he caught her kissing Gideon in a church, offers advice on everything. Oh, yes. And of course there is Gideon, the Diamond. One minute he’s very warm indeed; the next he’s freezing cold. Gwen’s not sure what’s going on there, but she’s pretty much destined to find out.
From Goodreads

This series seems to have a very Criminal Minds feel to it. There are those in the know, those researching the investigator(s), & the "baddies." I must admit that while the first book had a rather slow build up, once the story takes off you need to hang on. I'm almost certain that this book will not have the same delay, but all the same gratification.

What are you waiting on this week?
