Waiting on Wednesday: Shadow Bound (Unbound #2) by Rachel Vincent

Waiting on Wednesday recognizes that we as bookies pine for books. This post is about what I am impatiently waiting for right now. It was started by Jill at Breaking the Spine.

As many of you know, I am enamored with Rachel Vincent's work. No matter if it's adult or teen, I can't seem to get enough. Shadow Bound is the second book in the Unbound trilogy (her new adult series) and is set for a May 22 release. While she has already finished the final novel for the series & is beginning work on the final Soul Screamers novel, I will be devouring her most recently published item. While the summary below doesn't really have any spoilers, I'm sure the book will, so read at your own risk!

Shadow Bound cover
If you live in the dark long enough, you begin to forget the light…

KORI DANIELS is a shadow-walker, able to travel instantly from one shadow to another. After weeks of confinement for betraying her boss, she’s ready to break free of the Tower syndicate for good. But Jake Tower has one final job for Kori, one chance to secure freedom for herself and her sister, Kenley, even if that means taking it from someone else…

The job? Recruit Ian Holt—or kill him.

Ian’s ability to manipulate the dark has drawn interest from every syndicate in the world, most notably an invitation from Jake Tower. Though he has no interest in organized crime, Ian accepts the invite, because he’s on a mission of his own. Ian has come to kill Tower’s top Binder: Kori’s little sister.

Amid the tangle of lies, an unexpected thread of truth connecting Ian and Kori comes to light. But with opposing goals, they’ll have to choose between love and liberty….

From Goodreads

I was a big fan of Kori in the first book & I'm glad to see that we're shifting main characters for this second novel. I'm not exactly sure what to expect from this Ian character, but I'm fairly certain Rachel won't disappoint us. If you haven't read her other series (Soul Screamers, teen, starting with My Soul to Take or Shifters, adult, starting with Stray) I suggest you play some catch up!

What are you waiting on this week?

Shadow Bound looks intriguing. Thanks for the great review - I will have to check this one out! You might also enjoy The Corporate Kid by Neil Shulman and coauthor, Susan Wrathall, which is a true rags to riches story that has some dramatic elements mixed with humor.
