This week I'm getting really excited for Perfect Ruin (The Internment Chronicles #1) by Lauren DeStefano that is coming out October 1. I loved The Chemical Garden series (although I have yet to review Sever) & I've heard wonderful things about this book, so I'm sure it'll be just as amazing.
On Internment, the floating island in the clouds where 16-year-old Morgan Stockhour lives, getting too close to the edge can lead to madness. Even though Morgan's older brother, Lex, was a Jumper, Morgan vows never to end up like him. She tries her best not to mind that her life is orderly and boring, and if she ever wonders about the ground, and why it is forbidden, she takes solace in best friend Pen and her betrothed, Basil. There are so many incredible parts of this summary that I can't pick which one I like the most! It sounds very dystopic & science-fictiony with a hint of romance. Lauren does such an incredible job with her characterization that I'm pretty sure this will be one of those "I read it in a weekend" kind of books. What do you think about it? What are you waiting on this week?
Then a murder, the first in a generation, rocks the city. With whispers swirling and fear on the wind, Morgan can no longer stop herself from investigating, especially when she meets Judas. He is the boy being blamed for the murder — betrothed to the victim — but Morgan is convinced of his innocence. Secrets lay at the heart of Internment, but nothing can prepare Morgan for what she will find — or who she will lose.

I can't believe this comes out so soon! I still haven't read Sever but it's on my list for November so hopefully I can pair it with Perfect Ruin and kick off another cool series from DeStefano.
