Waiting on Wednesday: Nocturne (Claire de Lune #2) by Christine Johnson

Waiting on Wednesday recognizes that we as bookies pine for books. This post is about what I am impatiently waiting for right now. It was started by Jill at Breaking the Spine.

So while I have yet to review Claire de Lune (somehow that fell off my radar), I did enjoy the first novel in this series. Claire is such a fun character to watch grow. Now I'm gearing up for the August 23rd release of Nocturne (Claire de Lune #2) by Christine Johnson. We're picking up where we left off after the first book, so beware as spoilers may follow!

Some secrets are too dangerous...

After the tragic events of the summer, Claire is looking forward to a new school year. All she wants to worry about is finding the most gorgeous dress to wear to the Autumn Ball with her perfect boyfriend.

But as Claire knows all too well, the life of a werewolf is never that simple, or that sweet.

When Claire’s human and wolf lives start to collide, her worst nightmares come true. She is hurting her best friend. She has been caught lying. And then the unthinkable happens: Someone discovers Claire’s secret.

If Claire’s werewolf identity is exposed, everyone she knows will be put at risk. And the pack’s response comes at a cost higher than Claire can imagine. Claire will be forced to determine just how far she is willing to go to protect her family, her identity and her life, before she loses it all...

From Goodreads

While we were introduced to Claire's new-to-her lifestyle at the same time she is coming to grips with the situation, we're now moving ahead with her adjustment to her new being. Christine Johnson doesn't really follow the prescribed model for teen werewolf books and I find that refreshing. Keep your eyes peeled for my upcoming review of Claire de Lune & for its sequel's release!

What are you waiting on this week?

Waiting on Wednesday: Claire de Lune

Waiting on Wednesday recognizes that we as bookies pine for books. This post is about what I am impatiently waiting for right now. It was started by Jill at Breaking the Spine.

This week's selection is Claire de Lune by Christine Johnson and is set to be released May 18, 2010.

Christine Johnson’s CLAIRE DE LUNE, in which a teenager learns that she is a werewolf, descended from a long line of female werewolves, and must balance her human and werewolf lives, while tracking down the rogue werewolf preying upon the people of her town.

I am a fan of werewolves more so than vampires and I love female leads. The fact that this book combines both of those (and an amazing song title as the book title) leads me to have high hopes for this book. Also, I am interested to see what kind of werewolves these are. There are different mythologies that exist depending on where the story "originates" from and when. Shiver for example threw us a curve ball with its mythology, while Never Cry Werewolf was more of the traditional mythology. Here's hoping!
